Medieval Mayhem

For the summer term, we have immersed ourselves in all things medieval for our creative curriculum topic.

Students and staff spent an afternoon as serfs and the following week we became knights and ladies. Unfortunately, the centre was plagued with the Black Death and many of us were infected with boils and pustules! Thankfully, this cleared up quickly and the following week, we were able to experience a day in the outdoors which included learning pyrography and whittling, along with shelter building. We even cooked lunch on an open fire. Other activities this term have included learning about illuminated letters, decorating goblets, designing family crests and cooking pottage with unleavened bread.
